About the Gallery
According to The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, the word “vellichor” references “the strange wistfulness of used bookstores.” Being an avid reader and library patron from a young age, this sense of warm intimacy from books is one that I know well.
The smell of the pages, the promise of adventure between the bindings, the feeling of an old friend.
These are the feelings I wish to encapsulate with my photographs, as I take mundane objects and try to give them both a fresh perspective while attempting to preserve their familiarity.
